Working at Woodlands Respite Care Centre

Woodlands offers an exciting opportunity to work within a unique facility providing highly specialised and much needed respite services for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

The team at Woodlands includes nurses, carers, admin, domestic, kitchen and maintenance staff, all working together to ensure the highest possible standard of care for our Guests.

Nursing

As fundamental members of our care team, the nurses’ role focuses on supervising the day-to-day delivery of high quality care to our Guests with MS. Our nurses are responsible for the implementation of the care planning process, and undertaking the necessary procedures to meet the needs of our Guests.

Carers

Care staff are involved in most aspects of the hands-on care of Guests with MS, assisting them with all their daily living needs, accompanying them on excursions and participating in leisure activities in a holiday environment. The changing clientele provides additional variety in the working routine from week to week.

Administration Staff

The general office team comprises two receptionists/admin assistants, an administration supervisor and accounts co-ordinator, providing essential clerical and administrative support to all departments. In addition, the Fundraising & Volunteer Co-Ordinator and her two assistants focus on the social and leisure activities for our Guests, ensuring that there are sufficient numbers of volunteers available to help. The Funding Co-Ordinator assists Guests in accessing sources of funding and liaise with statutory authorities, and the Resource Centre Co-Ordinator is responsible for our on-site Resource Centre and its volunteers.

Domestic

Our cheerful and dedicated Domestic and Laundry Team work under the overall supervision of the Domestic Supervisor, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Centre.

Kitchen

Meals are often the most enjoyable part of our Guests’ stays, and our catering department can accommodate even the most fussy of eaters! Under the supervision of the Catering Supervisor and Cook, the friendly catering team assist with food preparation and general kitchen duties.

Maintenance

The Maintenance Supervisor and his assistant are responsible for the general upkeep of the building and grounds, ensuring that all equipment and services meet health and safety requirements and are in full working order!
