As a charity, Woodlands relies heavily on donations and fundraising and the Friends of Woodlands – through the ever-popular Charity Shop – contribute greatly to the ongoing improvement of Woodlands’ facilities.
Choose2Reuse
Woodlands is actively involved with the Choose2Reuse campaign.
The Choose2Reuse campaign is aimed at promoting the reuse of goods via charity shops and furniture reuse organisations, thus preventing them from going into landfill sites.
The City of York Council and North Yorkshire County Council have signed up to this initiative, and are actively encouraging charity shops and furniture reuse organisations in their area to get involved. Woodlands is actively involved locally, and members of the charity shop team sit on the sterring group which meets in York to develop promotional campaigns and develop public awareness of how they can "Choose2Reuse" their unwanted goods.
