As a charity, Woodlands relies heavily on donations and fundraising and the Friends of Woodlands - through the ever-popular Charity Shop - contribute greatly to the ongoing improvement of Woodlands' facilities.

Resource Centre
Woodlands MS Resource Centre provides information, support and guidance on any aspect of MS.
Our Resource Centre is open every Tuesday and Thursday, and on the first Saturday of the month. This voluntary role would suit someone who was considering joining the Citizens' Advice Bureau or Samaritans, but didn't want to sign up to the stringent time constraints needed by these organisations.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
· Create a welcoming, friendly and helpful environment
· Dealing with personal, telephone, email and postal enquiries
· Aiding access to information from available resources
· Journal and library management
· Simple administration skills
Skills
· Good listening and communication skills
· Ability to work in a team
· Good organisational skills
Personal Qualities
· Dependable and trustworthy
· Discreet
· Sensitive and understanding
Anticipated Commitment
· The desirable volunteer commitment is between 4 - 6 hours per month
Training
· Induction session
· 3-4 introductory training sessions of 4-5 hours each
