As a charity, Woodlands relies heavily on donations and fundraising and the Friends of Woodlands - through the ever-popular Charity Shop - contribute greatly to the on-going improvement of Woodlands' facilities.

  • Have you thought about starting some voluntary work?
  • Do you want to learn new skills?

Trips & Excursions

There is full support from our nursing / care staff.
Trips are run from Monday to Friday and are usually during the day, but we will organise evening trips if drivers and assistants are available.

You will need the following skills
· Good listening and communication skills
· Create a friendly and social atmosphere whilst on trips
· Assist guests with food and drinks
· Ability to work in a team
· Good organisational skills

Are you:
· Dependable and trustworthy ?
· Conscientious ?
· Friendly and responsible ?
· Sensitive and understanding ? 

Anticipated Commitment
· The desirable volunteer commitment is between 3 - 6 hours per week during weekdays
· Alternative opportunities are available if you would like to do more or fewer hours each week

Training
· Induction session plus structured wheelchair training session
· On site training shadowing existing volunteers and staff
· Volunteers are expected to attend annual on going training advertised through In Touch
