As a charity, Woodlands relies heavily on donations and fundraising and the Friends of Woodlands - through the ever-popular charity shops - contribute greatly to the ongoing improvement of Woodlands' facilities.

Woodlands has gratefully received several donations this year, which include:

Thank you to all those involved in donating this money, along with the many others who have raised various amounts for Woodlands over the last few months.
The Bay Horse Pub, Murton
On 13 February, the Bay Horse Pub held the third of their very successful Casino Nights raising money for Woodlands. Once again, they had a great night and raised a fantastic £700. Well done to Carolyn and everyone at the Bay Horse for raising this money. In just three events of this type, they have raised over £1,800 for Woodlands!
Escrick Primary School, York
Escrick Primary School held a couple of events in February to help raise money for Woodlands. They had an "Escrick's Got Talent" show on Friday 5 February which some of our guests were invited to attend. On Friday 12 February, they held a Book Sale and various other stalls (our trusted tombola was there!) In total they raised £270 with an additional £46 raised from our tombola stall. What a great achievement! Woodlands also benefited from all the left over books which weren't sold on the day - our charity shops got them!
The Royal York Hotel
The Royal York chose to support Woodlands throughout 2009. In February, a cheque totalling £1,080 was presented to Woodlands, which was the balance of the money raised through events and activities held by Woodlands and the staff. A total of £3,448.40 was made through this very successful partnership 2009! Thank you again to all at the hotel who made this possible.
The Business Excellence Club
This event was held on Friday 26 February at Odsall Stadium, Bradford - a little off our usual beaten track for our fundraising events, but we'll go anywhere for the money! Approximately £400 was raised for Woodlands from a silent auction that was held throughout this business networking event. Our thanks go to Michael Barker from PDG (Performance Development Group) who organised the event and the auction.
St Crux - Thursday 8 April
A fabulous, record breaking day was had by all! The sun shone and the money flooded in - £1,142 was made on the day! My thanks to all those involved in making it such a great event once more. Lots of people helped to provide assistance on the day and to provide goodies to sell. THANK YOU TO YOU ALL!! Our next one takes place on Friday 18 June - let us know if you want to help out!
